"Now it is less than two weeks until the start of our conference and the preparations are in full swing. I'm really looking forward to conference week and have the impression that we have reached a new dimension this time. Quantitatively and qualitatively - at least that's how it presents itself for me as the main organizer - I see it as a quantum leap what is emerging here. Be it the number and content of the lecture topics, the preparation of the exercise and its sequence, the offer of the technical exhibition and the workshop. We have seen a significant increase in numbers and resonances.
I don't want to seem too euphoric, because as you know everything never runs smoothly and in the best possible way, but the field is clear and the prerequisites for the success of the 14th International Police Seminar are excellent.

I ask all exhibitors to arrive in good time so that the exhibition stands can be prepared. I would like to remind the other conference topics that the technology exhibition can be visited from 11:30 a.m. on the day of arrival. You can then register for the workshops you are interested in at the respective supplier stands. The workshops will all take place on Wednesday, 07/17/19. The organisers of the workshops are kindly requested to advertise their own workshops at their stands independently. Please prepare the eye-catchers and contents of the workshop for your stand. You will receive registration lists for interested parties from us.
On Monday, 07/15/19, lunch can be taken between 11:30 - 13:00 before we start the opening of the 14th International Police Seminar at 13:00. Because of the tight schedule, I ask that you take your seat in time so that we can start on time.
If participants are unable to arrive until Tuesday, please note that the group will depart very early in the morning by coach to the venue of the practical exercise. Departure time is 07:45. In any case, you should check in at our reception beforehand. This applies to all participants. There you will receive information and your room key. It is not possible to travel to the practice area later.

Police specialists working in the area of crime scene / traffic accident documentation and event visualisation, as well as experts coming from forensics, science, measurement and forensic medicine, will meet for a week’s workshop. This conference addresses themes like possibilities and limitations of three-dimensional crime scene discovery, documentation and visualisation. Additionally, participants are provided with presentations and specialised lectures on interesting cases, innovative hardware and software developments as well as quality management.
This conference also serves as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange between the criminal police and the police force, scientists, experts and technicians where valuable experiences, comparisons and similarities of the developed applications can be performed. International participants are cordially welcomed.
We are very pleased to inform you that this year we are able to accommodate more participants due to the relocation to our new property. For the first time, about 150 participants can be housed in two completely refurbished dormitories equipped with single rooms (shower/WC) and a huge conference room. Participants who have attended this event in the previous years will soon notice that everything is now a bit more spacious.
The neighbouring Rhine meadows offer beautiful opportunities for extensive walks or sport activities. The culinary supply will be provided by the in-house canteen with Mr Reeg's team.
The exercise on day 2
This year’s practical part of the event focuses mainly on traffic accident’s area of application. This topic is selected in response to the requests coming from the previous year’s participants. For this, a high-speed crash test will be carried out on the second day (16.07.2019). The motor vehicle expert Dr. Michael Weyde and his team will simulate multiple rear-end collisions in traffic jams. Subsequently, several previously appointed participants will then document the traffic accident and attempt to reconstruct the chain of events that occurred during the accident. Here, several methods such as 3D laser scanners, multicopters and photogrammetry systems will be applied.
Important note: The planned exercise will be carried out on a NATO military site. As guests we are subject to strict security requirements. NATO requires a list of participants with nationality and identity card number in order to check the persons. For this reason, these information will be requested for the first time on the registration form. The identity card as well as the completed registration form must be printed out and presented by the respective participant upon admission to the military premises.
We kindly request you to print out the registration form and bring your identity card with you prior to your arrival.
If the obligatory information and documents are not available, participant will be excluded from exercise. Thank you for your understanding.
Lectures and topics
The topics of presentations and demonstrations is mainly focused on VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality). Workshops and corresponding lectures will also be organized for the corresponding topics.
We are looking forwards to receive many interesting contributions coming from the participants.
